Anthony Lucas Named Head Football Coach at Fayetteville
Fayetteville has announced the hiring of Anthony Lucas as its new head football coach.
“We are beyond excited to announce our new head football coach — Anthony Lucas,” the school said in its announcement. Lucas also shared his excitement about the opportunity.
“A new chapter, new standard. Same love for the game. My family and I are grateful for the opportunity. Let’s build something special. Go Purple Dogs,” Lucas said.
Lucas takes over the program following a successful tenure at Pulaski Academy, where he was promoted to head coach in 2021 after serving on staff for several years. In his first season leading the Bruins, Lucas guided Pulaski Academy to a state championship and continued the program’s tradition of success.
During his time at Pulaski Academy, Lucas maintained one of the state’s most explosive offenses and helped lead the Bruins to multiple deep postseason runs, further establishing himself as one of Arkansas’ top high school coaches.
Before becoming a head coach, Lucas spent nearly a decade as an assistant at Pulaski Academy, contributing to the development of one of the most dynamic offenses in Arkansas high school football.
A former standout wide receiver at the University of Arkansas, Lucas brings both playing and coaching experience to Fayetteville, where expectations are high as the program looks to build on its success.
