Bryant to Face Defending National Champion St. Frances in Inaugural Patriot Bowl
One of the marquee high school football matchups in the country is coming to Arkansas this fall.
Bryant will take on defending national champion St. Frances Academy of Baltimore, Maryland, in the inaugural Patriot Bowl on Sept. 11 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Game organizer Sam Glover, who also directs the King Cotton Holiday Classic basketball tournament, told ArkansasVarsity on Thursday morning that the event will debut this fall at War Memorial Stadium.
The inaugural matchup will pit one of Arkansas’ premier football powers against one of the nation’s most recognizable prep football programs.
Bryant has established itself as a perennial state championship contender and will now have an opportunity to test itself against St. Frances Academy, a national powerhouse that enters the season as the defending national champion.
The Panthers have long been regarded as one of the nation’s elite independent high school football programs, annually producing NCAA Division I talent while competing against some of the country’s toughest schedules.
For Bryant, the game represents another opportunity to showcase Arkansas high school football on a national stage while facing one of the most accomplished programs in the United States.
