Marissa Rice Named New Head Softball Coach for El Dorado Ladycats
The El Dorado School District has named Marissa Rice as the new Head Softball Coach for the Ladycats.
A 2017 graduate of El Dorado High School, Rice returns to lead the program she once represented on the field. Following a standout collegiate career at Belhaven University, where she played from 2018 to 2022, Rice came back to El Dorado and joined the Ladycat coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in the fall of 2022.
Now taking the helm as Head Coach, Rice brings not only her playing and coaching experience but also a strong vision for developing student-athletes on and off the field.
“I believe in a program that makes young women stronger—mentally and physically,” Rice said. “My goal is for our athletes to develop their athletic abilities, as well as traits that will last them a lifetime.”
District officials say Rice's unique combination of local roots, collegiate success, and coaching passion make her an ideal leader for the Ladycats.
