Pranter Drives In Seven as Lake Hamilton Routs Hot Springs 23-2
Kaden Pranter delivered a monster performance at the plate Friday, driving in seven runs on four hits to lead Lake Hamilton to a 23-2 victory over Hot Springs.
Pranter produced runs throughout the game, doubling in the fourth inning to drive in one run, singling in the sixth to plate two, then delivering two more run-scoring hits in the seventh — a single and a double — that each brought home two runs.
Lake Hamilton broke the game open with a massive seventh inning, scoring 12 runs to put the contest out of reach. Pranter started the surge with a two-run single, while Kolton Phagan added an RBI single and Sumner Young lifted a sacrifice fly. Cash Johnson followed with a two-run double as the Wolves capitalized on a pair of Hot Springs errors and continued to add runs throughout the inning. Pranter later delivered another two-run double before Young capped the inning with an RBI single.
The Wolves set the tone early, scoring five runs in the top of the first inning. An error brought home the first run before Phagan grounded out to score another. Johnson drew a bases-loaded walk, and Carson Jackson added a two-run single to give Lake Hamilton an early cushion.
Lake Hamilton added five more runs in the sixth inning on four hits. Ashur Gregory singled in a run before Pranter drove in two more with a base hit. Young added an RBI groundout and Elija Myers followed with an RBI single.
Gregory earned the win for the Wolves, allowing one hit and no runs over three innings while striking out seven and walking two. Christian Campbell took the loss for Hot Springs after allowing nine runs, four earned, on five hits over five innings. Myers picked up the save.
Lake Hamilton finished with 15 hits in the game. Gregory, Johnson and Myers each recorded multiple hits, while Bryce Quinton drew two walks as the Wolves showed patience at the plate with seven walks overall.
