Rison Booster Club Donates New Weight Room Equipment to Wildcat Athletics
The Rison Wildcat athletic programs received a major boost on Thursday with the donation of new weight room equipment, courtesy of the Rison Booster Club. The much-needed upgrade is expected to benefit athletes across multiple sports as they prepare for upcoming seasons.
Rison Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Chris Vereen expressed his appreciation for the donation and emphasized its significance for the school’s athletic performance.
Vereen said that updated weight room equipment is a must if you want to compete with other programs.
With football season on the horizon, Vereen said the Wildcats have been putting in the work during summer workouts, 7-on-7 competitions, and team camps.
Rison has a proud tradition of producing athletic talent, and rising junior Christian Reeves is among the latest to make headlines. Reeves recently claimed the Class 3A High Jump State Championship, breaking the classification record with a 6-foot-4-inch jump. He also won the Meet of Champs—a feat made even more impressive given that Rison doesn’t have a track facility for practice.
