Riverside Names Brannen Head Boys Basketball Coach
Riverside High School has announced the hiring of Brad Brannen as its new head boys basketball coach, bringing one of the state’s most accomplished résumés to the program.
Brannen owns a career record of 698-295 and has built a reputation as one of Arkansas’ most successful high school coaches. His career includes 18 conference championships, 19 state tournament appearances, five Final Four trips and four state championships. He has also been named conference coach of the year 19 times and has served as an Arkansas All-Star coach on four occasions.
Most recently, Brannen spent the past two seasons at Westside. Prior to that, he spent 18 seasons at Bay, where he built one of the state’s top programs, winning 14 conference titles and all four of his state championships.
Known for his emphasis on discipline, defensive intensity and player development, Brannen’s teams have consistently competed at a high level while representing their communities with pride.
Riverside officials expressed excitement about the hire, noting Brannen’s track record of success and leadership as key additions to the program as it looks to build for the future.
