Rogers Heritage Names Max Washausen Head Football Coach
Rogers Heritage High School has named Max Washausen as its new head football coach, the school announced.
Washausen, known for his offensive approach, returns to Heritage where he began his coaching career in 2008 as a student assistant. The hire marks a homecoming for Washausen and a new direction for the War Eagles program.
He has built a reputation across the region as an innovative offensive coach, with previous stops including Cederville and Prairie Grove. At Cederville, Washausen helped guide the program through its most successful stretch, while at Prairie Grove he played a key role in elevating the Tigers’ offense.
During the 2025 season, Prairie Grove averaged 37 points per game, totaling 5,643 yards of offense and scoring 67 touchdowns. Over his three seasons as offensive coordinator, the Tigers set five offensive records and scored 1,175 total points.
Washausen is a former two-time all-conference player and conference champion at Prairie Grove. He later attended the University of Arkansas, earning degrees in education and teaching.
School officials said they expect Washausen’s offensive philosophy and familiarity with the program to help move Heritage forward.
Washausen and his wife, Charis, have three children: Summer, Austyn and C.J.
