When Kevin Kelley took over the Sheridan football program, he talked about doing things that hadn’t been done in a long time.
Three games into his latest season with the Yellowjackets, Sheridan has accomplished one of them.
Sheridan is 3-0 for the first time since 2000 after Friday night’s 51-13 victory over Warren, and Kelley believes the start is a reflection of a senior class that has grown up in his program and embraced what he and his coaching staff have asked of it.
Kelley admitted he didn’t realize just how long it had been since Sheridan last opened a season with three consecutive victories.
“Somebody had said it’s been a long time, but with you reciting what it was, I mean, that’s 26 years,” Kelley said. “I couldn’t be more proud of the kids.”
